Honey Trapping Of A Brave Soldier.

Ryan was working in the Indian army, deployed in military occupational specialties. His duty was along the borders of the country; checking for any infiltration by anti-national elements.

As is the case with army personnel, he had a tough and disciplined physical schedule. The morning reveille was given at 05:00 a.m., and the physical training started within an hour. After breakfast, it used to be time for the parade. In the evening it used to be games at 1600 hours, and by 2000 hours they used to finish dinner.

The time after dinner could be called his own. This was free from all the concerns of the day and utilized for relaxing and amusement. He used to be on social media during this time, often chatting with his friends and relatives. This had become a part of his daily routine and also his second nature.

Since he was earning a good salary and settled in life, his parents were keen on finding a good match. From his end, he had enrolled onto some good matrimony and dating sites.

His Facebook page was well managed with a nice photo in Army uniform which made him appear to be a tall and dashing man. Countless girls used to like the photos that he used to post on Facebook and Instagram and he used to keep in touch with them, replying to their queries.

One day he posted a few photos of his morning routine and the place where he was exercising. The next day there were many likes on his Facebook page from his friends and relatives. There was also a friend request from a girl he had never seen or heard before and he immediately accepted her friend request. Out of curiosity, he went to look at her profile.

She was a teacher employed in a school. Such was her beauty that he could not take his eyes away from her photos. She appeared to be as beautiful as any supermodel. Soon it was time to sleep and he kept the mobile on a nearby table.

For half an hour he was not able to sleep. The face of the pretty girl was continuously coming into his thoughts. However much he tried, he could not sleep. He went back to the table, picked his mobile, and was staring at her photo for half an hour. It was only past midnight that he was able to get some sleep.

After two days he again posted his photo on Facebook with some of his routine exercises. The same girl liked his photo with a remark, “You appear to be working very hard.”

“We are required to be very agile and fit in the army.” Then as an afterthought, he added “Are you married?”

“No, I am single.” This was her reply. “Can you provide me with your mail Id?” Ryan immediately posted his mail Id and went to sleep.

The next day he was busy with his routine schedule the whole day and at night before going to sleep, he checked his social media profile. In the end, he decided to check his mail. There was a mail from the same girl who had asked him his mail Id the previous day.

“I liked your photos on Facebook. Here are some of my photos. You may appreciate some of them. I would like to see more of your photos.”

Ryan immediately sent some more of his photos. There was a reply from Nikita; “You are too handsome for any girl to ignore. Wow! Just look at those amazing abs.”

“You are also very beautiful. The first time I saw your photos I was completely mesmerized and could not take my eyes off your photo.” Ryan replied.

“What time are you free normally?” Nikita inquired.

“I am generally free during lunchtime or the evening after 06:00 PM, but am most relaxed at this hour of the day.” Saying this he sent six more of his photos.

“Nice photos. What is your WhatsApp number?”

Ryan send his WhatsApp number and immediately he received a message; “Hi! How are you?”

“I am fine. I was expecting your message, but am surprised to receive it so soon.”

“The whole day I had been waiting to talk to you,” Nikita replied. “Even for me this is the most convenient time for conversation after coming from school; as by this time I normally finish all the household chores.”

“Fine. We will daily talk at this time as it is convenient for both of us. Now I will be going to sleep as I have to get up early in the morning.”

The messages continued to & fro for a month and they kept getting closer and closer, professing their love for each other.

One day Ryan remarked in his message “My job is such that we have to keep shifting base every three years. It is quite natural that you would not be able to find a job quickly every time we shift.”

“Dear! This is not a big issue. When there is love in life we will be able to adjust well. Besides this, there would be annual vacations too.” Nikita replied.

“Though you are staying far, I would still like to meet you.”

“You are in too much of a hurry to meet me. We will meet when I am on holiday and then we will proceed for a tour of some hill station.” Nikita replied.

“That would be six months away.”

“Don’t be impatient dear. We love each other.” Nikita replied trying to convey her true feelings.

“As you wish. I will wait for the day when we meet “Ryan replied.

“You have not sent me any more photos of your job. How would I know of your bravery and valor?”

“Fine! I would send some of my photos with tanks and missiles in the background.” Ryan replied.

“That would be great. Only then I would be assured that our country is safe and strong enough to thwart the nefarious design of our neighboring countries. ”Nikita concluded sounding relieved.

“Sweetheart, it depends on the valor of the soldiers too. What use is all the latest equipment if the soldiers give up courage during tough situations.”

“But I am still not convinced of your safety and am really worried. Do send me some more photos of the latest equipment in our army and the place where you stay. I would like to see how your base is administered.” Nikita demanded.

“Don’t worry too much. “Ryan replied “Our army is well equipped with the latest equipment and technology to counter any attack. But since you want to learn more about the place where I work, I would send you some of the photographs.”

“Yes, I would need them to convince my parents for our marriage. They would be glad to learn of the valor of their would-be son-in-law. I would be eagerly waiting for the photos.” Nikita sounded positive.

The next day Ryan sent some more of his photos and this continued for a while with him sending even more photos.

As Nikita was requesting more information, Ryan began to have doubts. “Why does she require all of these photos?” he was thinking the whole day. After this, he refused to entertain her requests for more information.

One day he received a call from the same number as Nikita “See my friend! if you don’t provide us with the information that we demand, we will surely inform your commander that you have sent us some sensitive information and photos. This would be good enough for you to get court-martialed.”

Ryan broke into a cold sweat fearing that he was trapped in a dangerous situation. He had to continue divulging the secrets of the army, many a time feeling guilty. This continued for a long time. He was not able to get out of the trap, being continuously blackmailed.

Soon there was a bomb blast in a city and the army crossed the borders and attacked the soldiers of the neighboring country, whose hand was suspected in the blast. There were a few casualties but the majority of the soldiers returned unharmed. The commander of the army was suspecting some leak in sensitive information as the other side was prepared for retaliatory action in advance.

This continued for a few months and the army chief ordered to keep track of all the suspicious activities of the soldiers.

They were now tracking the incoming calls of the soldiers. Soon they were shocked by the whole situation. Nearly 20 soldiers were being blackmailed into passing on sensitive information. On further inquiry, it was revealed that some fake profiles were being used to lure the soldiers and extract valuable information. Many beautiful girls were involved in the scandal.

There was big learning from this incident. The commanding officer decided to ban 50 apps, including dating apps. The soldiers were strictly instructed not to brag about their military achievements, exercises, operations, and other details of their transfer and promotions on social media.

A complete ban was imposed for carrying smartphones to sensitive bases. A reform was brought in the army in order to be more prepared for the digital warfare imposed by the enemy.
